Fish Finder using with NavNet 3

Question

I am not getting a number read out before the "ft" on the bottom of the screen on my fish finder. The screen is showing bottom structure and anything suspended in the water, but there is no number showing up for depth. What do I need to do?

Solution

If this is an older DFF1 unit that was interfaced with a NavNet 3D system, then the software could be out of date and may need to be updated via a NavNet 3D incremental update or sending the unit into us. If this is a new unit then the you might need to adjust your bottom level adjustment. The “Bottom Level” parameter is functioning as the threshold level of the echo signal to detect bottom/depth readout. Please lower the Bottom Level threshold control on both frequencies and see if that helps. I believe -20 is default so you might try something like -40.
