Furuno's New FCV600/FCV800 TruEcho CHIRP™ & CW Fish Finders Offer The Best Of Both Worlds

Furuno's new stand-alone Fish Finders, the 7” FCV600 and NMEA "2023 Best New Product" award-winning 8.4” FCV800, can drive either a CHIRP or dual-frequency CW (Continuous Wave) transducer, allowing fishermen to configure the Fish Finder to suit their specific needs. Those who feel stuck making the critical choice between CHIRP or CW will be delighted to hear that the dual transducer ports of the FCV800 offer the best of both worlds. This cutting-edge technology will change the game for anglers of all levels, making locating and catching fish easier than ever.

Camas, WA - Furuno is proud to introduce two new stand-alone Fish Finders that include all-new features that fishermen will love, built on the foundation of award-winning Furuno features that fishermen rely on. The 5.7” FCV600 and NMEA "2023 Best New Product" award-winning 8.4” FCV800 can drive either a CHIRP or dual-frequency CW (Continuous Wave) transducer, allowing fishermen to configure the Fish Finder to suit their specific needs. This cutting-edge technology will change the game for anglers of all levels, making locating and catching fish easier than ever.

Those who feel stuck making the critical choice between CHIRP or CW will be delighted to hear that the dual transducer ports of the FCV800 offer the best of both worlds. Desirable features such as Bottom Discrimination, a feature that displays the composition of the bottom, and Furuno’s ACCU-FISH™ fish size assessment tool, require a dual-frequency CW transducer. At the same time, Furuno’s TruEcho CHIRP™ delivers greater detail and target separation for baitfish, game fish, and structure by transmitting across a spectrum of frequencies. With the FCV800’s ability to drive both TruEcho CHIRP™ and CW options simultaneously, valued CW-only features can be combined with TruEcho CHIRP’s frequency-modulated signal to deliver those Furuno features while providing better resolution for targets on the screen.

Two new color palettes, Sunlight and Yellow, offer greatly improved visibility in bright daylight. The new Color Range Expansion feature is also included, broadening the range of discrete signal intensities detected and painting them in different colors. With conventional color ranges, echoes from the seabed and fish may be shown in a similar color, which can make distinguishing fish from the bottom challenging. With Color Range Expansion, the range of identifiable echoes is expanded so you can intuitively identify bottom fish from the seabed. Reefs, structure, and fish near the seabed are shown in slightly separated colors, making it easy to tell structure from fish at a glance and spot elusive fish targets you otherwise may have missed.

Furuno’s RezBoost™ signal processing technology improves resolution and target separation using conventional CW transducers. With RezBoost™, you'll experience higher resolution, crisper visuals, and improvements in the ACCU-FISH™ function. This dramatic improvement in the capabilities of conventional Fish Finders produces a picture that is up to 8 times clearer, breathing new life into the standard CW transducer many fishermen already have installed.

Both come in a sleek, piano-black presentation with comfortable rubber keys and a robust RotoKey™ rotary knob controller. The soft-touch keys are inclined at the top and bottom, making them comfortable to press and the units easy to use. A second display can be installed for those desiring multiple stations to show the echoes and nav data from the FCV600 and FCV800 via the built-in wireless network. With a simplified installation, this powerful solution allows for continuous monitoring of the underwater situation while fishing from the stern or bow.

Some fishing operations rely on accumulated bottom hardness information to help determine the best areas to locate their target species. The FCV800 can output bottom hardness data to external plotters, such as TZ Professional, making this model ideal for those operations.

Furuno’s legacy of excellence began with the introduction of the world’s first Fish Finder in 1948. That legacy lives on in their products' continuous innovation and unmatched quality.
