 About Capt. Rush:

Born and raised in the Florida Keys, Capt. Rush Maltz grew up surrounded by his fishing heroes. He knew from an early age that his destiny was to make a living on the sea. With mentors like Capt. Jose Wejebe, Capt. Trossit, and many more, Capt. Rush has soaked up many lifetimes worth of local knowledge about his home waters in Key West, Florida. His mastery of this “local knowledge” and lots of hard work has allowed him a successful charter business with twenty years of satisfied clients under his belt.

For Capt. Rush, every aspect of fishing and boating come together in unison to accomplish this level of fishing expertise. He excels in aspect of the sport - not just catching the bait and the fish, but maintaining the boat, rods, reels, and tackle, weather prediction, fish forecasting, and catering to the wide variety of goals and personalities of his clients. Such a winning combination takes a great deal of energy, and Capt. Rush has applied that and more laying the foundation of his one-man charter operation, Odyssea Key West Sportfishing out of Key West, Florida.

Along with his great success behind the helm of ODYSSEA, Rush is co-host of the popular fishing show 'Local Knowledge'.
