Question
I have a Furuno 1833C/NT package and my trackball has started sticking. Is there anything I can do to repair/clean it?
Solution
To clean the NavNet (RDP139) or NavNet VX2 (RDP149) 10.4 inch display unit trackballs please proceed as follows:
1. Use the 2 opposite raised ridges on the Trackball Retainer ring to turn the ring 1/4 turn counter clockwise. Remove the retainer ring and the trackball.
2. Clean the trackball and the retainer ring in warm soapy water.
3. Use a cotton swap and isopropyl alcohol to clean the rollers and the trackball receptacle.
4. After allowing both to dry, reinstall the trackball and the retainer ring.
