Question
When I power up my radar it goes into standby mode. When I hit transmit the array turns maybe one turn and the unit shuts down. What could be causing this to occur?
Solution
This sounds like it could be a low supply voltage problem on the boat. Based on what you describe, the supply voltage is not high enough and the current protection circuit is being tripped due to increased current. Check the main supply voltage with both the radar off and with it on. You can also try running the radar on shore power. If it does not shut down, the supply on the boat is the issue.
