The CU200 is a remote memory card reader which may be used with either the FAR2XX7 series radars or the NavNet 1/NavNet vx2 BB series processors. When used with the X7 series radars, the CU200 may be used with an optional memory storage card only (P/N 000-148-719) to store and retrieve user settings, marks and lines and installation settings.
The CU200 may be connected directly to a processor by utilizing a single Ethernet cross-connect cable, or connected into a HUB by using a straight-through Ethernet patch cable. Note that there are NO Ethernet cables included with the CU200, so the appropriate cables must be selected and acquired, either locally or from Furuno USA. In most circumstances, Ethernet cross-connect/null and straight-through cables may be purchased from office supply stores and / or computer stores very inexpensively. If you require an armored Ethernet cable for deep-sea installations, these cables are available from Furuno USA. These cables come with the RJ-45 connectors not installed, so an RJ-45 crimp tool will be required. The individual wires may be crimped/connected so that the cable is configured as either a cross-connect/null, or a straight-through Ethernet Cable. Please see the FAR2XX7 installation manual interconnection diagram for more details.
The power cable that is supplied with the CU200 will allow direct connection between the 3-pin power jack of a NavNet BB processor and the CU200 power receptacle. If the CU200 is being used with the FAR2XX7 series Radar, one end of the power cable may be cut off, and the bare wires can be connected to J614 of the FAR2XX7 Processor.
